The original intent of this site was to provide research of the 12th and 14th Naval Districts, and the Pacific Ocean Area during WW II. The documents for the research include letters, photographs, drawings, booklets, and Naval Magazines that are held in the National Archives and Records Administration, (NARA), Regional Archives at San Bruno, California. While scanning these documents it was realized that there was more than just Mare Island, Treasure Island, and Hunters Point during WW II in the Bay Area. With that in mind the intended scope of this site will be expanded to include as much information on the Military and Civilian establishments in the Bay Area that were directly involved in the building and repair of naval vessels, and of the forts that were there to protect them during the Second World War.

This expanded scope is a tremendous task with an amazing amount of information that can be included in this site, and it will take years researching and scanning to fulfill. With that in mind there will be an incremental rollout, with concurrent research for the 12th and 14th Naval Districts, and the Pacific Ocean Area during the Second World War. These items will be placed into the following lists: Drawings, Letters, Magazines, Photographs, and War Damage Reports. The lists are located on the left side of the screen under the 12th and 14th Naval Districts, and the Pacific Ocean Area. And will be updated as noted above.

There are no advertisements or tracking cookies on this site. The cost is entirely borne by USNAVYRESEARCH.COM.

USNAVYRESEARCH.COM is not affiliated with the U. S. Navy or any branch of the U. S. Government.

If there are pictures, reports, letters, booklets, or magazines that you would like copies of and are willing to pay for the effort to provide them to you, those funds generated by your purchases will be used in securing help to fulfill the expanded research goals.

If you need USNAVYRESEARCH.COM for research, the cost is $50.00 per hour that includes scanning and shipping. You may say that is expensive, however, if you live out of the area how much would an airplane ticket, a hotel room, and food cost you? Or if you live a few hours away how much will fuel cost you, plus your driving time and food? If you live in the Bay Area no problem, just the cost of a BART ticket and you are here. Send us an email and let us know when you will be here and if we are there during your visit, we will gladly provide some free advise.
